August Declared National Shooting Sports Month

On August 19th, Wendy Murphy, the Nebraska State R3 Coordinator for Pheasants Forever, travelled to Lincoln to attend Governor Jim Pillen’s signing of a proclamation designating August as National Shooting Sports Month in Nebraska.

Commissioners Approve Mountain Lion Season

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission approved a 2026 mountain lion hunting season. Commissioners approved a season in three hunting units, increasing the harvest limit in one unit while keeping them the same in the other two.

Men’s Golf League Results

Landon Welke led the way Thursday during men’s league golf at the Ainsworth Golf Course with a 2-under par round of 34. Robert Magill finished two shots back with an even-par 36.

Valentine Wins Rolling Rock Golf Competition

Valentine retained the Rolling Rock Sunday with a 14-11 victory over Ainsworth during the annual match play golf event. It was the first Valentine victory at the Ainsworth Golf Course since 2008, and the win for Valentine tied the 22-year series at 11 victories for each squad.

Men’s Golf League

Martin Gonzalez, Kevin Martin and Cody Goochey shared the top spot Thursday during men’s league golf at the Ainsworth Golf Course with 1-over par rounds of 37. Heath Rudnick, Brett Knoetzel and Graig Kinzie finished one shot back with rounds of 38, followed by Dane Sears, Dallas Fowler and Joel Klammer with rounds of 39.

Women’s Golf League

The team of Ann Hoch, Wendy Wilkins and Jen Martin won the Ainsworth women’s league golf title with a total of 100.5 points. The team of Kathy Worrell, Stephanie Kinzie and Julie Micheel finished second in the league with 97.5 points, followed by the team of Rylee Pierce, Chelsey Peterson, Danielle Palmer and Brenda Konkoleski in third with 86 points.
