O’Neill Lady Eagles came to Ainsworth on Thursday, September 29th and made a clean sweep on the Ainsworth Bulldogs, beating the Lady Dawgs in three sets, 18-25, 20-25 and 21-25. They only had the one match last week.

After four weeks of good weather the Fall Trap League at the Sandhills Rod and Gun Club comes to and end. Open skeet shooting will go on for the next two Wednesday nights starting at 5:00 p.m.

The Ainworth Bulldogs hosted the Elgin Public/Pope John Wolfpack on Friday, September 30th. Both teams were undefeated through five games and it proved to be a great game between two good teams.

The Ainsworth Bulldog Volleyball Team was on the road this week travelling to Burwell for a dual and playing in the Hershey Volleyball Tournament on Saturday. The week found the Dawgs winning 1 match and loosing 3.

The Ainsworth Cross Country team continued their season by picking up four high school medals and two middle school medals at the Ord Invitational. Junior Katherine Kerrigan led the way for the Bulldogs, winning her first individual title of the season. The score-four format did not allow the Bulldogs to have a team score for the third straight week.

The Girls Golf team at AHS had two busy weeks of challenging competition. On Thursday, September 15th, they traveled to the Mullen Golf Club for 18 holes of competition.

The 4-0 Ainsworth Bulldogs Football Team traveled to Bartlett on September 22nd to play the Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades and looking for their fifth win of the season. The Dawgs came away with a 63-14 victory, picking up their fifth win of the season.

The Nebraska Department of Labor (NDOL) announced today that Nebraska’s preliminary unemployment rate for August 2022 is 2.1 percent, seasonally adjusted. The rate is up 0.1 percentage points from the July 2022 rate and is down 0.4 percentage points from the August 2021 rate of 2.5 percent. During the Ainsworth Bulldogs Homecoming Week, the Lady Dawgs were able to secure three victories. The Bulldogs traveled to Atkinson to take on the West Holt Huskies on Tuesday, September 13th.
