Dawgs Win Two by 20+; Lose One-Point Game in O’Neill

The Ainsworth Bulldogs played in three games last week, winning two and losing a close one, which improves their 2021-22 season record to 9-3. On Tuesday, January 11th, the Boys Varsity team won a home basketball game against the Boyd County Spartans by 34 points.

Elks Hold Annual Elks Hoop Shoot

The annual Elks Hoop Shoot was held on Saturday, January 15th in McAndrew Gymnasium in Ainsworth. Contestants had to be at least 8 years of age and no older than 13 year as of April 1, 2022, in order to participate.

Girls Basketball Team Wins Three in a Row

The Dawgs won three games last week, all by major points. Outscoring their opponents by a minimum of 13, the Bulldogs handled their opponents whether they were at home or away, improving their record from 5-5 to 8-5.

River Otter Season Closed January 11

Nebraska’s first regulated harvest season for river otters closed January 11th due to the season close trigger of 75 otters being met. River otters incidentally trapped after January 10th must be turned over to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
