Trap Shooting League Starts in Ainsworth

The first round of Trap League at the Sandhills Rod & Gun Club in Ainsworth was held on Wednesday, September 8th. Trap League will run through the month of September.

Ainsworth Bulldogs Fall to Arcadia-Loup City, 12-47

The Ainsworth Bulldogs played another top ranked D1 football team on Friday, September 10th when they traveled to Arcadia to play the Arcadia-Loup City Rebels (ALC), and were defeated 12-47. The Rebels were rated 8th by the Omaha World-Herald in D1 eight-man football.

Hodge and Roggasch Compete in Pro Horseshoe Tour

Two area horseshoe pitchers from the Ainsworth Horseshoe Club competed in the Pro Horseshoe Tour hosted in North Platte on September 11th and 12th. Malinda Hodge and Tim Roggasch, both from Rose, NE, competed against players from Nebraska and 12 other states.

Ainsworth Cross Country Teams Improve at Second Meet of Young Season at Broken Bow

The Ainsworth Cross Country teams took a step forward as they continued their season with the second meet of the year at the Broken Bow Invite on Saturday, September 11th. Although Saturday mornings usually provide a nice cool morning for running, unseasonable heat made runners uncomfortable as temperatures spiked into the low and mid 80’s.

Upland Bird Opportunities Await Nebraska Hunters This Fall

Nebraska is the mixed-bag capital of the Great Plains, and another fall of diverse upland bird hunting opportunities awaits hunters. According to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s 2021- 22 Upland Game Bird Hunting Outlook, nesting conditions were favorable during May and early June but increasingly dry conditions during late summer may have affected brood survival and limited re-nesting opportunities in certain areas.

Brown County 4-H Finds Success at Nebraska State Fair

4-H members of Brown County found success at the 2021 Nebraska State Fair held in Grand Island August 27 th through September 6 th . The results are as follows: Ethan Arens: Shortened Cake, Blue.

Ainsworth Bulldogs Fall to Burwell, 18 to 62

Coming off their season opener 82-44 win over the Plainview Pirates, the Ainsworth Bulldogs traveled to Burwell and were handed a 18-62 defeat on September 3rd. The Burwell Longhorns were Class D1 champions in 2020 and returned many starters.
