The 11th Hour of the 11th Day of the 11th Month: Armistice Day in Ainsworth

Before Veterans Day was made an official holiday by President Eisenhower in 1954, November 11th was Armistice Day: the day World War I ended when the Allied powers signed a ceasefire agreement with Germany at 11:00 a.m. November 11, 1918.
