A Year in Review

  • The Ainsworth Community Schools student body voted for homecoming royalty. The winners were announced after the Bulldogs beat the North Central Knights on Friday, October 3. This year’s royalty were back row (left - right): Princess Madison Phares, King Chris Fernandez, Queen Megan Jones, and Prince Sam Titus. The crown bearers were Preston Winters and Blair Martin.   • During the celebration, membership chairman Shari Luther welcomed long time members to the afternoon tea held on November 9, the 106th birthday of the Auxiliary. A total of 21 members were present, with many years of membership ranging between the group. Each member from 36 years 75 years of membership was recognized with a certificate for their dedication to Unit #79. The group finished out the celebration reminiscing on years past.   • Local youngsters competed at the Ainsworth Elks Hoop Shoot held on December 7. Pictured above are the winners of each age group (left to right): Cecilia Zwiebel (8-9 girls), Carter Johnson (1011 boys), Sutton Brodbeck (10-11 girls), Tiana Wroblewski (12-13 girls), and Blake Hansmeyer (1213 boys). Hansmeyer made 18/25 free throws, the highest of the day. These athletes had the chance to compete at the district hoop shoot January 18 in Cozad.
