A New Year Filled with Faith and Determination

A brand-new year is here, and I’m excited to see what the Lord has for us! Keeping Christ at the center of our thoughts takes a great deal of discipline and determination, but so does everything else we really care about.

Brown County Sheriff’s Report

January 28th The sheriff’s office received a report of a possible vehicle roll-over accident in southern Brown County. A deputy patrolled the reported area and was unable to locate a vehicle.

Confirmed Measles Case Reported in Northeast Nebraska

A confirmed measles case in Platte County has been reported to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. The patient is an unvaccinated child with an out-of-state travel history in Arizona.

Missoula Children’s Theater Auditions Held January 12

An audition will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of ‘Sleeping Beauty’ on Monday, January 12, in the Ainsworth Community Schools Learning Center from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. All those auditioning should arrive at 3:30 p.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours.

Miles Lechtenburg Competes in National Cross Country Meet in Portland

Miles Lechtenberg, senior at Sioux Falls Lincoln High School, finished fifth at the Nike Heartland Cross Country Regionals on November 9, qualifying him individually for the National Meet in Portland, Ore., on December 6. Miles led his team to the team championship as well as qualifying the entire team for the National Meet.

Brown and Rock County Livestock Producers Reminded to Report Forage Losses by March 2

Ainsworth U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) Executive Director Laurie Andrews reminds livestock producers who suffered grazing losses that occurred throughout 2025, due to drought, to report their losses timely and to enroll in the Livestock Forage Disaster Program (LFP) by March 2.
