July 11, 2001 25 Years Ago 'Ainsworth receives CDBG Block Grant' A massive statewide housing rehabilitation effort was launched today with the award of $5,687,450 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds through the state’s 2001 Affordable Housing Program – the largest single award announcement ever made through the housing program. The award, approved and announced by Governor Mike Johanns, specifically targets the rehabilitation of 281 owner-occupied homes throughout 17 Nebraska cities and villages.
