NE Dept. of Transportation Truck Catches Fire

The Ainsworth Fire Department was called to a vehicle fire near Daniel’s Manufacturing in Ainsworth on Friday afternoon, September 17th. A NDOT truck driven by Jeff Fredrickson was hauling asphalt millings south of Ainsworth when an airbag on the truck blew out.

Last weekend I attended the funeral of one of my uncles, Mr. Pat Strasburger. He was an icon in the Sheridan County Sandhills ranching community. He passed just a few days shy of his ninety-eighth birthday. His funeral truly was a “celebration of life.” Imagine all of the things he saw.

Road and Sidewalk at Brown County Fairgrounds Dedicated to Lyle and Betty Stewart

The Brown County Ag Society dedicated a sidewalk and road to the late Lyle Stewart and his wife, Betty, during the 86th Annual Brown County Fair and Rodeo. The dedication and moment of silence for the late Lyle Stewart was held on Saturday, September 4th prior to the rodeo. A sidewalk was run from near the grandstands to the new restroom facilities. Street signs were placed along the sidewalk commemorating Lyle and Betty Stewart.
