Ainsworth Senior Center Celebrates 45 Years

Forty-five years ago on August 2, 1981, the Ainsworth Senior Center held an open house to celebrate their new building. Senior Center officers in 1981 were Dorothy Walton, Bill Gudgel, Dwight Moody, Burdetta Jansen and George Brede.

A Friday night fire destroyed a building in Ainsworth. According to Ainsworth Assistant Fire Chief Devin Painter, at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Ainsworth Community Schools Begins Classes on Thursday, August 13

Ainsworth Community Schools will open its doors to students for the 2026-27 school year on Thursday, August 13. The school has a host of new employees beginning this year.
Ainsworth Reclaims Border Cup

Ainsworth recaptured the Border Cup Saturday at the Ainsworth Golf Course, winning the annual match play event between members of the Ainsworth Golf Course and Bassett Country Club by a score of 15-1/2 to 9-1/2.

Week of January 12th through January 18th, 2025 Sunday, January 12th The Brown County Ambulance Association responded to two 911 calls in Ainsworth, transporting one patient to the hospital on each trip. The Brown County Ambulance Association provided a ground transport crew to an Omaha, NE hospital.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 phone call Saturday evening, January 18th from the Ainsworth Grand Theater at 6:41 p.m. stating they had just received a bomb threat.

Ainsworth Girls Wrestling Team Places 5th at Winside Invite

The Ainsworth Girls Wrestling team competed at the Winside Girls wrestling invite on January 11th. As a team, Ainsworth placed 5th, The team had two individual invite champions, Jolyn Pozehl and Paisley Hoffman.
