Flood Warning Lifted; Smith Falls SP Campground Open

The National Weather Service has lifted a flood warning for the Niobrara River, allowing Smith Falls State Park in north-central Nebraska to reopen its campground and trail to the falls. The National Weather Service had issued the flood warning January 16th after an ice jam had formed on the river near Sparks, NE, downstream from the park.

Ainsworth Speech Team Opens Competition at Broken Bow Speech Meet

The Ainsworth High School Speech Team kicked off its season on Saturday, January 20th at the Broken Bow Speech Meet. The small but mighty squad faced difficult competition, with only one speaker, freshman Puridy Haley, making it to the final speaking round.

Ainsworth Girls Basketball Team Defeats Ogallala Lady Indians

The Ainsworth Lady Bulldogs had only one ball game this week after the North Central game was postponed due to weather. The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Ogallala on Saturday, January 20th and came away with a big win, 62-52, over the Ogallala Lady Indians.
