Ainsworth Senior Center Celebrates 45 Years

Forty-five years ago on August 2, 1981, the Ainsworth Senior Center held an open house to celebrate their new building. Senior Center officers in 1981 were Dorothy Walton, Bill Gudgel, Dwight Moody, Burdetta Jansen and George Brede.

A Friday night fire destroyed a building in Ainsworth. According to Ainsworth Assistant Fire Chief Devin Painter, at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Ainsworth Community Schools Begins Classes on Thursday, August 13

Ainsworth Community Schools will open its doors to students for the 2026-27 school year on Thursday, August 13. The school has a host of new employees beginning this year.
Ainsworth Reclaims Border Cup

Ainsworth recaptured the Border Cup Saturday at the Ainsworth Golf Course, winning the annual match play event between members of the Ainsworth Golf Course and Bassett Country Club by a score of 15-1/2 to 9-1/2.

Rylee Rice Named to Doane Athletic Honor Roll

Rylee Rice of Ainsworth was named to the Doane Athletic Director’s Semester Honor Roll (3.00 to 3.49). Rice competes in Women’s Track & Field at Doane University.

Brown County Hospital Board Meeting The Brown County Hospital Board meeting will be held on Monday, January 23rd at 4:00 p.m. in the Brown County Hospital Conference Room.

The Community Hall was the place to be on Sunday evening where the firemen were cooking a delicious pancake supper. With a lovely evening, the crowd was great. Much fellowship and food was enjoyed for the benefit of our community.
