Ainsworth’s 61st Annual Community Christmas Pageant

Around the world, Christmas is a time for family and community traditions. Residents of the “Christmas City of the Sandhills” in Ainsworth are especially proud of their own unique tradition - a live re-enactment of the birth of the Christ child in Bethlehem. For 61 years, members of the Ainsworth Women’s Club have presented the story of Christ’s life in an annual Christmas Pageant free to members of the community.

December 11 - 17, 2022 Sunday, December 11th Provided assistance to a Nebraska State Patrol trooper on a traffic stop on 4th Street in Ainsworth. A Nebraska driver was issued a citation.

Legislative Notes

As the holiday season marches on, Christmas is now nearly upon us. From the Pine Ridge through the Sandhills, we have been slammed by severe drought for most of the year. Now we have gotten a whole lot of moisture all at once and in solid form. The holiday spirit has been evident in District 43 as neighbors help neighbors dig out, tend to livestock, and cope with the mess dealt out by this Nebraska holiday weather. As water-starved as we have been, I know a lot of us are grateful for the trouble. Please pray for all those who are trying to get feed to their livestock and for those who have lost electricity.

It's Going To Be A White Christmas

Many years residents of Brown County have to imagine a White Christmas....not so this year. Much of north central Nebraska and south central Nebraska experienced a four-day blizzard that left 11 inches of snow in Ainsworth and much more west.

Gov. Ricketts Issues Emergency Proclamation Following Severe Winter Storm

Governor Pete Ricketts issued an Emergency Proclamation for impacted counties in the Panhandle and North Central Nebraska following an ongoing winter storm. On Tuesday, December 13th, a severe winter storm moved across the Panhandle and North Central Nebraska, producing large amounts of snow and strong winds.
