Nebraska High School qualifiers will be heading for the 2022 National High School Finals Rodeo to be held in Gillette, WY July 17th through July 23rd. The National High School Rodeo Association (NHSRA) is the largest Youth organization in the Western Industry, with an annual membership of more than 12,000 students from 44 states, 5 Canadian provinces, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand.

The Brown County Commissioners and Ainsworth City Council met again to discuss funding for the Sandhills Care Center on July 5th during the regular meeting of the Brown County Commissioners. Commissioner Dennis Bauer said he requested the Care Center Board to put together funding scenarios following the meeting on June 13th along with resident counts from previous years.

The Ainsworth Chamber of Commerce started recognizing this year's Yard of the Week winners. First week's winner went to the residence at 237 Park Street, owned by Jacce and Britley Beck. Colorful flowers such as petunias, impatiens, tiger lilies, roses, lilies, clematis, hens and chicks are displayed in their front yard. There are a lot of ground covered flowers and grasses. A variety of trees are located throughout their yard including pine and maple.

Long Pine City Council held its regular meeting on Thursday, July 7th in the Long Pine Community Center. Council members present were Linda Alberts, Dave Cheatum, Kathy Papstein and Andrea Collatos.

Celebrating 65 years as Ainsworth Alumni were the class members of 1957. Participating in the parade were (Left to Right): David Cassel, Blair Williams, Ellen (Hazard) Kyser, Cleo (Hood) Cooper, Elsie Witt, Don Davison, Lavonne (McDermott) Lehman, Judy (Evans) Dickey, Cindy (Gilchrist) Bower and George Haun.

1962 Alumni gathered for a float in the recent alumni parade. Classmates attending were (Front Row - Left to Right): Pam Scott, Bob Ross, Sharon (Mundorf) Stombaugh, Judy (Lake) Kline, Lettie (Clark) Morse, Kenny Schelm, Stan Lehn and Gordon Smith; (Back Row - Left to Right): Dick Schipporeit, Margaret (Duckett) Kemp, Geraldine (Spearman) Micheel, Don Aten, Naomi (Wilkins) Denny, Glen Shorney and Charles Cleal.
