The Ainsworth Volleyball team spent a lot of time traveling this past week as they traveled to Chambers for a Triangular and to the Cozad Invitational. The Bulldogs picked up two victories in Chambers and one in Cozad.

Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers has filed four more lawsuits in Madison County as part of the series of suits the Attorney General has filed against THC shops to address rampant unlawful conduct in the industry, which continues to cause serious harm to Nebraska consumers.

Fall Trap League Got Underway at the Sandhills Rod And Gun Club on Wednesday, September 4th with six teams shooting. Top shooters for the first night were Gus Ganzer with 47 of 50 rocks, Blaine Frizzell with 46 and Dave Theis with 45.

The Ainsworth Bulldogs hosted the Ord Chanticleers on Thursday, September 5th. The Bulldogs were defeated 9-25, 17-25 and 18-25.

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services has detected Cache Valley virus (CVV) in a mosquito pool. On August 6, 2024, the West Central District Health Department collected samples from a mosquito pool in Lincoln County as part of the DHHS mosquito surveillance program.

The 2024 Brown County Fair Doubles Horseshoe Tournament was held on Sunday, September 1st during the Brown County Fair. Sixteen paired off as two-person teams for the Double Tournament.

On Thursday, September 5th, the Ainsworth High School Girls Golf team competed in the West Holt Invitational at the Atkinson-Stuart Country Club. This was a great day of competition for the team, as many of the schools in this tournament will be seen again for district competition.

It was Homecoming Week for Ainsworth and on Friday, September 6th, the Bulldogs hosted the 2023 Class D2 football champions, the Sandhills/Thedford Knights. In a great game, the Ainsworth Bulldogs came up just short, 54-56, of upsetting the defending champions Sandhills/Thedford Knights.

The Ainsworth Cross Country Teams opened their season by hosting the 2024 Ainsworth Cross Country Invite at the Ainsworth Golf Course on September 5th. With the temperature at 78 degrees and north winds at 5-10 mph, the Ainsworth Girls Varsity Cross Country Team placed first in the Ainsworth Invitational for the ninth straight year that started in 2016.

This year’s skit required the Homecoming Candidates, to listen to a song being played, and when it stopped, they had to raise their hand and who was ever first and called upon by the cheerleaders, had to finish the lyrics, name the song and what artist sang it. The duo team of Miah Ortner and Morgan Kinney won the challenge.
