The Ainsworth Boys Wrestling Team traveled to Mullen for the Mullen Invitational on December 2nd. The team placed 13th out of 19 teams with Holden Beel the top Ainsworth wrestler with a second place finish in the 106 lb.

The Ainsworth Junior High Wrestling Team competed in the O’Neill Jr. High Invitational on December 1st in O’Neill.

Jolyn Pozehl, 115 lbs., placed second in her weight class at the O’Neill Invitational. Pozehl lost to Ella Reeves of Battle Creek in the first place match.

The Ainsworth Varsity and Jr. Varsity Girls Wrestling Teams traveled to O’Neill for the O’Neill Invitational on December 2nd.

The Ainsworth Girls Wrestling Team starts the 2023-24 season with a Dual at Burwell on November 30th. Returning letter winners for the AHS Girls Wrestling Team are (Left to Right) Zaily Daniels, Megan Jones and Jolyn Pozehl.

The Ainsworth Girls Wrestling Team will start their third season since Nebraska School Activities Association sanctioned Girls Wrestling for the 2020-21 season. The Girls Wrestling Team will be lead by three returning letter winners that include Jolyn Pozehl, Megan Jones and Zaily Daniels.

The Ainsworth Boys Basketball Team has nine returning letter winners for the 2023-24 season. Returning letter winners are (Back Row - Left to Right): Chris Fernandez, Logan Schroedl, Carter Nelson, Trey Appelt andTraegan McNally; (Front Row - Left to Right): Witten Painter, Ryan Salzman, Jacob Held and Morgan Kinney.

Nebraska Firearm Deer Harvest Down 18% Statewide

Preliminary results from the 2023 Nebraska November firearm deer season show statewide harvest was down 18% from 2022 and down 29% from the 2018-2022 average. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission expected these results for the Nov.

Zaine Evans, wrestling in the 110-121 pound weight class, took first place winning all three of his matches with pins.
