During the regular meeting of the Brown County Commissioners on August 6th, the commissioners discussed mowing road ditches. Landowners are required to mow road ditches along their property two per the summer.

Nick Krause Dusts Off 24 Years of Custodian Career for Retirement

Humans are limited. We can’t be everywhere doing everything, and we certainly cannot do both at the same time. But to ask Nick Krause, custodian at Ainsworth Community Schools, to tackle the many miscellaneous needs that arise at the school is to ask him to do his job, and he meets the challenge every single time. After nearly 24 years, Krause is retiring from his position.

Long Pine City Council Approves CDBG Documents for Comprehensive Development Plan Grant

Under old business, a building permit for a 204 square foot car garage at 357 W. Third Street in Long Pine was not approved. This is located on property owned by Sandra R. Lambley from Akron, CO. The Council denied the permit under the recommendation of the Zoning Board. Other options for this garage were presented to the owner who stated she is not ready to make any changes at this time.

Ainsworth Golfers Recapture Border Cup from Bassett Golfers

Ainsworth recaptured the Border Cup Saturday, August 3rd with a 14-1/2 to 10-1/2 win over Bassett at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course. The 36-hole event features the top golfers from the Ainsworth Golf Course and the Bassett Country Club in a match-play format.
