Ainsworth Senior Center Celebrates 45 Years

Forty-five years ago on August 2, 1981, the Ainsworth Senior Center held an open house to celebrate their new building. Senior Center officers in 1981 were Dorothy Walton, Bill Gudgel, Dwight Moody, Burdetta Jansen and George Brede.

Area Fire Departments Respond to Friday Night Fire

A Friday night fire destroyed a building in Ainsworth. According to Ainsworth Assistant Fire Chief Devin Painter, at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Ainsworth Community Schools Begins Classes on Thursday, August 13

Ainsworth Community Schools will open its doors to students for the 2026-27 school year on Thursday, August 13. The school has a host of new employees beginning this year.
Ainsworth Reclaims Border Cup

Ainsworth recaptured the Border Cup Saturday at the Ainsworth Golf Course, winning the annual match play event between members of the Ainsworth Golf Course and Bassett Country Club by a score of 15-1/2 to 9-1/2.

Housewife Division Releases Results from the 2021 Brown County Fair Exhibitors

Brown County Fair Superintendent Audrey Wilson has released the winners from the Housewife Division exhibits. Winners in the various categories include: Breads Banana Bread: Blue - Iris Sisson, Ryan Connell and Brandy Connell; Red - Becky Schelm and Patty Nelson; White - Connie Rossenbach.

New Generator Installed at Sandhills Care Center

Early in 2021, the Ainsworth/Brown County Interlocal Board made an application to the USDA for grant funds to replace the emergency electrical generator at the Sandhills Care Center. Following all the applications, reviewing of bids and COVID-19 delays, the new generator was set in place on Friday, September 29th.
