BKR 4-H Shooting Sports Held in Ainsworth

BKR 4-H Shooting Sports held their Championships on Sunday, August 1st at the Ainsworth Rod and Gun Club. Sixty-two youth participated in one of five disciplines: Shotgun, Archery, BB Gun, Air Pistol and .22 throughout the 2020-21 4-H Shooting Sports Season with 112 4-H Shooting Sports project enrollments in BKR 4-H.

47 Nebraska School Boards, Object to Sex Ed Standards

In an AP story released on July 25th by the Omaha World-Herald prior to the release of the second draft of the proposed State Health Education Standards, nearly 50 Nebraska school boards have objected to proposed state health education standards that include lessons for young children on gender identity and gender expression.

School Meals at No Charge for All Students at Ainsworth Community Schools

Effective for School Year 2021-22, Ainsworth Community Schools will serve meals at no charge to enrolled students. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved use of the Seamless Summer Option (SSO), which allows local school districts to provide no-cost meals to all enrolled students for the duration of the 2021-22 school year.
