Caregivers and Property Tax Payers Likely Big Winners in Budget Outcome The state’s cash reserve fund, caregivers, people who pay property tax and job training programs will apparently be the big winners in the $9.7 billion two-year state budget being debated by the Nebraska Legislature. That’s the word from the Legislature’s Appropriations Committee Vice Chair Sen.

"Greek Gala" Theme of 2021 Ainsworth Junior/Senior Prom, Saturday, April 17th

This year's Ainsworth High School Junior/Senior Prom will be held on Saturday, April 17th. The event will start with students and their dates eating together at the Ainsworth Conference Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. Starting at 6:30 p.m., couples will line up for their pictures.

Correction for Planning Commission Zoning Regulation Story

In last week’s Ainsworth Star-Journal it was reported that Jim Jackman seconded a motion made by Pat Schumacher to approve Amendment 37e using a 98% frequency for annoyance free. The second to the motion was actually made by Jim Carley.

Ainsworth Middle School Hosts Invitation Track Meet

The Ainsworth Middle School hosted the 2021 Ainsworth Middle School Invitational Track Meet on April 1st. The weather for the track meet was in the lower 60’s with south winds 15 to 20 mph.
