Brown County Report November 13 -19, 2022 Sunday, November 13th The Brown County Ambulance Association and Ainsworth Fire Department responded to a call for a dog that had fallen through ice, east of Ainsworth in a gravel pit pond. The dog was unable to be rescued.

A spotlight is shining on women’s sports this year as the nation commemorates the 50th anniversary of the passage of the groundbreaking Title IX legislation. While tremendous strides have been made over the past five decades, much work remains to be done to give female athletes an equal playing field and recognition on par with their male counterparts.

Joint Meeting With City Council, Commissioners and Care Center Board Held to Discuss Sandhills Care Center Funding

A joint meeting of the Brown County Commissioners, Ainsworth City Council and Sandhills Care Center Board was held on Tuesday, November 15th to discuss funding of the Sandhills Care Center. Following the November 8th election that passed the County levy and City levy for funding of the Care Center, the three boards met to discuss how to fund the Care Center prior to levy funds coming in.

Ainsworth Library Conducts Book Basket Fundraiser

The Ainsworth Library conducted a Book Basket Fundraiser for the Library. According to those running the fundraiser, the event was well attended and people seemed very happy with the baskets they won on the silent auction. With basket sales and donations, the Library raised $1,605.00. The proceeds will be used for outdoor lighting updates at the Ainsworth Library.
