Ainsworth Child Development Center continues to work toward their goal of opening an education-based childcare center in downtown Ainsworth. Here is an update on recent events.

The Ainsworth American Legion Auxiliary met September 27, 2022 at the American Legion Post Home #79. President Marilyn called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

Every day in the clinic or hospital I meet extraordinary caregivers. They are the ones who have gone above and beyond the call of duty; sometimes for years at a time. When you ask them how they do it, they shrug and smile. I am not talking about any doctor, nurse, or therapist. I am referring to those who care for and look after their elderly friends and family members. This can be a spouse, adult child, adult grandchild, neighbor, or even a good friend.

Speaker Jonis Agee will present a program “Bones of Paradise: A Novel Examined” on October 20th at 5:00 p.m. at the Ainsworth Public Library.

The word Allium means onion in Latin, so it is no surprise that alliums are ornamental onions. They send up stalks that vary in height by variety that are topped with an almost round flower head containing up to one hundred florets. Since they smell like onions, most pests like deer and squirrels won’t bother them.
