Be Prepared for Snowy Road Conditions

Finally, Brown County has seen some snow accumulate in the latter half of 2021. When snow accumulates, your state and county roads will need cleared off. Snow plows are on the road for your safety. The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) provides the following tips for sharing the road with snowplows:

DHHS Acknowledges December as National Safe Toys and Gifts Month

According to a news release by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), more than 217,000 children are treated in emergency rooms annually for toy-related injuries, either because of the toy itself or due to the mishandling of it. As part of an effort to reduce that number of mostly preventable injuries, Prevent Blindness America has declared December National Safe Toys and Gifts Month.

County Commissioners Discuss Quiet Park Award for Niobrara River and Road Washboard Issues

The Brown County Board of Commissioners held their regular meeting on Tuesday, December 7th at the Brown County Courthouse. Commissioners Buddy Small, Dennis Bauer and Reagan Wiebelhaus were all present. County Assessor Terri Van Houten, Clerk Travee Hobbs, Treasurer Deb VonHeeder and Attorney Andrew Taylor were also present.
