Dawgs Look to Capture First Win of Season

The Ainsworth boys basketball team competed in the Pleasanton Holiday Tournament on December 22 and 23. The Dawgs took on the Pleasanton Bulldogs in the opening round of the tournament.

The American Red Cross asks Nebraskans to consider giving the gift of time in 2026 by resolving to help people in need as a volunteer. “Our volunteers make up 90% of our workforce and are the beating heart and soul of the Red Cross,” said Jill Orton, Red Cross of Nebraska Region CEO.

No matter your opinion of immigrants, I think we can agree on one thing – having a federal detention center in Nebraska is not a good look for our state. The opening of the “Cornhusker Clink” illustrates that Nebraska is in full-throated agreement with the roundup and deportation of those who came to our country in search of a better life but in violation of immigration rules.

Tree Removal Begins at Merritt Reservoir

A tree removal project beginning at Merritt Reservoir aims to restore prairie habitat in areas choked by undesirable trees. Revitalizing the grassland will benefit plant and animals and open spaces for hunting, fishing, birdwatching and hiking.
