Ainsworth Women’s Golf League Standings

The Ainsworth Women’s Golf League golfed on Wednesday, July 21st. Low Team Scramble scores for the evening were: Two over par, 38, shot by the team of Jen Martin, Ann Hoch and Wendy Wilkins and tied with a three over par, 39 were the teams of Julie Micheel, Stephanie Kinzie and Kathy Worrell and Brenda Konkoleski, Danielle Palmer, Chelsey Peterson and Rylee Pierce.

Ainsworth Men’s Golf League

Four golfers shared the top spot Thursday during men’s league golf at the Ainsworth Golf Course. Cory Brodbeck, Brett Knoetzel, Graig Kinzie and Nick Martin each posted even-par rounds of 36 Thursday, finishing one shot ahead of Logan Leach and Cody Goochey, who shot 1-over par rounds of 37. Jesse Owen, Chuck Whitney and Dallas Fowler carded rounds of 39.

Health Alerts Issued for Five Lakes

The state has issued a health alert for Harmful Algal Blooms (HAB), also known as toxic blue-green algae, at Maskenthine Reservoir in Stanton County, Willow Creek Reservoir in Pierce County, Calamus Reservoir in Loup County, Bluestem Lake in Lancaster County and Pawnee Lake (east and west beaches) in Lancaster County.

Show off your sandcastle building skills during the Calamus Castles event August 7th at Homestead Knolls Beach Area at Calamus State Recreation Area. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m.

Julie Micheel, Rachel Peers Win Ainsworth Ladies Golf Scramble

During the 18-hole 2-Lady Scramble at the Ainsworth Golf Course on Saturday, July 24th, Julie Micheel and Rachel Peers shot a 68 to win the championship flight. Second place went to Anna O’Kief and Kelsey Dredge with a 73 followed by Wendy Wilkins and Natalie Leach taking 3rd place with a 78.
