Jolyn Pozehl Wrestles 7-5 at “Disney Duals” in Orlando

Jolyn Pozehl, incoming AHS freshman and Long Pine resident, recently traveled to Orlando, FL with her AAU girls wrestling team, the Nebraska Corn Shuckers. The 2021 AAU Scholastic Duals or the “Disney Duals” lasted June 20th through June 25th. More than 1,200 competitors were registered to compete at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.

Ainsworth Municipal Golf League Teaches Juniors Golf Etiquette

During the month of June, the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course held Junior Golf. This introduced the youth to golfing - a time to learn and play. The lessons were taught on June 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th. Youth who finished Kindergarten - 8th grades this year were invited to be a part of this program. Instructors included Wendy Wilkins, Heather Lutter, Julie Micheel and Brenda Konkoleski along with other volunteers.

Campbell Team Wins 4-Person Scramble Alumni Golf Tournament

The annual 4-Person Scramble Alumni Golf Tournament was held at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course on Sunday, June 27th. The team of Dave Campbell, Andrew Campbell, Matt Campbell and Coleman Campbell shot a 16-under round of 56 to win the Championship Flight.

Bill Moos’ time as Nebraska’s athletic director is over. The University of Nebraska announced Friday morning that Moos will retire from the position, effective June 30th.

Student-athletes at Northeast Community College excelled both in the classroom and in their respective sport this past season. Ninety-three student-athletes were named ICCAC Academic All-Region, it was announced by the ICCAC recently.
