Ainsworth City Council Approves 9.2 Million Dollar Budget

Following a 2024-25 Budget Hearing held on September 11th, the Ainsworth City Council voted unanimously to approve a $9,220,086.00 budget for 2024-25. The 2024-25 budget is down just under $3 million dollars from the 2023-24 budget of $12,075,821.00.

Secretary of State Certifies Ballot for November General Election

Secretary of State Bob Evnen certified the final list of candidates for office and ballot measures for the November general election ballot. “County election offices and our Elections Division have put in exemplary work to ensure that all candidates were appropriately filed and that all petitions were verified and certified in time,” Secretary Evnen said.

Area Fire Departments Called to Grass Fire

On Tuesday, September 10th, a fire was reported approximately seven miles north of Long Pine on the Bar 25 Road on the Rock County side. The Bassett Fire Department was paged at 14:40.

Council Approves Converting Legion Field to Multipurpose Field

During the regular meeting of the Ainsworth City Council on September 11th, Park Board Chairman Cody Goochey asked the council to consider converting the Legion Baseball Field in East City Park to a Multipurpose Ball Field.
