Ainsworth Bulldogs will be having an early Homecoming this year, as the event is planned for September 2nd - 6th, 2024. The over all theme this year will be 'Bulldogs Got the Beat'.

Commissioners Hold Public Hearing on Closing Road South of Long Pine

During the regular meeting of the Brown County Commissioners on August 20th, a public hearing was held for the purpose of taking public comment/take action on the question of whether the following described road should be abandoned or vacated: The public road known as Cedar Road lying in Sections 9, 16, & 17 all in T26N; R21W in southeastern Brown County.

Secretary of State Certifies Two Abortion-Related Petitions for General Election Ballot

The Secretary of State’s Elections Division certified that signature requirements have been met for the Protect the Right to Abortion constitutional amendment petition and the Protect Women and Children constitutional amendment petition for the November 5 general election ballot. County election offices completed signature verification within the 40-day period as required in Nebraska Revised Statute § 32-1409.

Bridge Project Will Affect Some Smith Falls State Park Visitors

Visitors travelling through Valentine to access Smith Falls State Park will be affected by road construction starting this fall. The Nebraska Department of Transportation will start work on the removal and reconstruction of the Nebraska Highway 12 bridge over the Minnechaduza Creek 3 miles east of Valentine.
