    Abandoning Portions of Maple Street Tabled; Utility Bill Reduction Denied; 2024 City Council Dates Set

    The Long Pine City Council had to approve the Year End Certification of City Street Superintendent for determining incentive payment in calendar year 2023. Certified was Keith Gilmore as the appointed City Superintendent during the months of January 1, 2023 to October 31, 2023. Since their office has closed, they had to fill out another Year End Certification for Chris Miller of Miller and Associates to finish the 2023 year by serving them in the capacity of City Street Superintendent from November 1, 2023 - December 31, 2023.

    Ainsworth Lady Bulldogs End Season at Sub-Districts

    The Ainsworth Lady Bulldogs Volleyball Team ended their season in Sub-District action with a win over the Valentine Lady Badgers, 3-1, and loss to the West Holt Lady Huskies 0-3. Valentine The Lady Bulldogs, #2 seed, met the Lady Badgers, #3 seed, on October 23rd in Atkinson for first round action in the Subdistrict C2-10 play.

    Niobrara Council Accepts Quiet Parks International Trail Award

    The Niobrara Council accepted the Quiet Parks International Trail award ceremony for the Niobrara National Scenic River on Friday, October 20, 2023. The ceremony was attended by Niobrara Council members, Nebraska Tourism officials and the general public.
