Question: My irises aren’t blooming, why? If you’ve had good blooms in the past, the most likely culprit is overcrowding, irises should be divided every three or four years. This should be done four to six weeks after blooming by trimming the leaves back to six to eight inches tall, digging up the entire plant and pulling the rhizomes apart.
