Agricultural producers and landowners with certain expiring Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) contracts can receive additional rental incentives and extend that land’s role in conservation for another 30 years. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has opened the signup period for its Clean Lakes, Estuaries, And Rivers enrollment (CLEAR30) now through July 31, 2023. CLEAR30 is a part of the CLEAR initiative, which prioritizes water quality practices as a part of Continuous CRP enrollment and is one of several CRP enrollment opportunities.

Graduate and undergraduate degrees will be conferred for 667 spring graduates at University of Nebraska at Kearney commencement exercises on Friday, May 19th at UNK’s Health and Sports Center. Graduating from this area are: Ainsworth: Ashley Fox will receive a Master of Arts Degree in English.

Spring has sprung and the youngsters are out. This fox pup was photographed west of Ainsworth. The mother was with the pup, but when the vehicle stopped for the picture she took off hoping to lead the photographer away from the den, but the young pup didn’t get the message to hide.

The access road and boat launch at Willow Lake B.C. Wildlife Management Area in Brown County has reopened.
