2022 Harriet Hughes Outstanding Fine Arts Student Award Presented to Senior Alyssa Erthum

Each year senior students at Ainsworth High School have the opportunity to compete for the Harriet Hughes Outstanding Fine Arts Student of the Year. Along with submitting a list of their high school accomplishments in the fine arts, they are asked to submitted an essay on what Fine Arts has meant to them. Below is the written essay of this year’s winner, Alyssa Erthum:

Every day, our nation’s law enforcement officers put their lives on the line to protect our neighborhoods and keep us safe. The positive impact of their service and dedication to our communities and our country is invaluable, and we owe them the full measure of our respect and gratitude. During Nebraska Law Enforcement Week, we honor the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and recognize those who continue to serve our communities as officers of the law.

National EMS Week – 2022 Rising to the Challenge

In 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation’s communities. National Emergency Medical Services Week brings together local communities and medical personnel to honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine’s frontline.

26 AHS Seniors of Class of 2022 Recognized for Receiving 188 Scholarships

There were 188 scholarships awarded to 26 members of Ainsworth High School’s 2022 graduating class for outstanding performances in the classroom, fine arts, athletics and other activities. The following is a list of scholarship recipients listed alphabetically by last name.

Highway 20 Update

A&R Construction finished removing the asphalt from the south lane of Highway 20. Removal of underlying concrete pavement, concrete curb and gutter and driveways is complete west of Main Street and will progress east.
