The team of Shane Kinnick, Dane Sears and Dallas Fowler remain in first place with a team score of 38 points in the Ainsworth Men’s League Golf on Thursday, July 15th. Moving into second place with 34 points was the team of Mark Gracey, Jim Jackman and Kim Buckley.

Rich Crow Eagle of Mission, SD, fired a three-round total of 1-over par 109 Sunday, July 18th to win the championship flight of the annual Men’s Open at the Ainsworth Golf Course. Crow Eagle shot a 2-under 34 in the opening round, a 2-over 38 in the second round and a 1-over 37 in the third round to win by six shots over Mike Beardt of Mission and Graig Kinzie of Ainsworth.

“Our prairie fish are terrible jumpers,” according to Nebraska Game and Parks Commission (NGPC) Wildlife Biologist Cassidy Wessel. Fish inhabiting Niobrara tributaries are used to flat prairie streams, unlike mountain fish species that are better at navigating jumps.

Low scores for July 7th Ladies League Golf Scramble were: 34 – Brenda Konkoleski, Danielle Palmer, Chelsey Peterson and Rylee Pierce; a 37 – Julie Micheel, Kathy Worrell and Stephanie Kinzie; tied with Jen Martin, Ann Hoch and Wendy Wilkins; and a 39 – Ashley Martin, Lydia Allen and Rachel Schumacher.

The team of Shane Kinnick, Dane Sears and Dallas Fowler took over first place with a team score of 33 points in the Ainsworth Men’s League Golf on Thursday, July 8th. The team of Troy Brodbeck, Graig Kinzie and Robby France dropped to second place with a team score of 30.

On a cool, windy July day, Logan and Natalie Leach won the annual Couple Tournament at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course on Saturday, July 10th. Leaches shot a two-under 70 to take the top honors in the Championship Flight.

Shooting a nine-under 63, Nick Martin won the One-Person Use-It or Lose-It Golf Scramble at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course on Sunday, July 11th. Twenty-nine golfers competed in the tournament.

The Ainsworth Junior Golf Tournament was held at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course on Wednesday, July 7th. Thirty-seven young golfers competed for prizes purchased with donations from local businesses.

The results for the Ainsworth Ladies League Golf after four weeks of golf were as follows: Low scores for June 30th were: 43 – Brenda Konkoleski, Julie Micheel and Jen Martin; 46 – Ashley Martin; 47 – Lydia Allen and Darlene Ehlers. Leading the teams with 31.5 points was the team of Julie Micheel, Kathy Worrell and Stephanie Kinzie; with 29.5 points was the team of Ashley Martin, Lydia Allen and Rachel Schumacher; and tied with 28 points were the teams of Brenda Davis, Connie Jackman and Jan Wells along with the team of Jen Martin, Ann Hoch and Wendy Wilkins..
