Nine Ainsworth Athletes Competed in the NEN Norfolk Classic

Ainsworth High School sent nine tracksters to the NEN Norfolk Classic held in Norfolk, NE on April 29th. Athletes selected to participate in this meet come from times and distances submitted by coaches since the beginning of the season.

‘Walk the Walk’ event begins May 11 and ends May 22, stopping in 11 Nebraska communities. The Medal of Honor is the nation’s highest military award for bravery.

Carter Nelson took first place in the Long Jump and High Jump, setting a new school record in the High Jump at 6’ 8.25”.

The Ainsworth Track teams competed in the Southwest Conference Track Meet on Saturday, May 1st in Broken Bow. The Ainsworth boys tied with Ogallala for fifth place with 49 points each.

Ainsworth Bulldog Golf Team Competes in O’Neill Invitational

It was cold and windy when the Ainsworth Golf Team took to the links for the O’Neill Golf Invitational on Thursday, April 22nd. Eleven teams competed for top honors with Cedar Catholic taking first place with a team score of 353 and second place going to Ord with a team score of 363.

Kaitlyn Nelson placed second in the Shot Put with a throw of 35’ 10.5” and took first in the Discus with a throw of 108’ 3”.

The Ainsworth Track Teams competed in the West Holt Invitational in Atkinson on Friday, April 23rd. The track meet was postponed one day from Thursday to Friday due to inclement weather on Thursday.

The Ainsworth Track Teams competed in the O’Neill Invitational on April 15th for their second track meet of the week. First place finishes were posted by three Ainsworth athletes.

Windy, cool weather greeted track teams at the Sandhills Invitational Track Meet in Bassett on April 6th. Both high school and middle school teams competed since the original high school meet was postponed due to weather.

The Valentine Boys Golf Team shot a team score of 197 to take the Ainsworth Quadrangular on April 1st. The four teams competed in windy conditions and the scores showed it.

The Ainsworth Middle School hosted the 2021 Ainsworth Middle School Invitational Track Meet on April 1st. The weather for the track meet was in the lower 60’s with south winds 15 to 20 mph.
