Ainsworth High School Quiz Bowl Competes at State Competition

Ainsworth High School took nine members of the Quiz Bowl team to Hastings on Wednesday, April 30, to compete in the State Quiz Bowl hosted by ESU 9. Each ESU in Nebraska sends two teams for a total of 30 teams with no division by classes.

The Ainsworth track team competed in Valentine on Friday, May 9. This was the last competition in the Bulldog’s regular season.

During the Ainsworth High School Academic Awards Tuesday, seniors Hannah Beel and Preselyn Goochey received the annual Principal’s Leadership Awards. Emma Kennedy was selected to be the senior class speaker during graduation Sunday.

On May 1, area athletes that qualified for the Norfolk Classic competed in Norfolk. Ainsworth sent two athletes; Owen Blumenstock competed in the triple jump, and Kiley Orton competed in the 3200 meter run.

Freshman Jaxon Rucker tied for 25th at the West Holt Invitational, carding an 89.

The middle school golf season is well underway, and the Bulldogs have played in three meets; Summerland, North Central, and the Stuart Invites. At Summerland, the team finished third with Callen Pierce earning the fourth place medal and Nathan Fernau receiving the sixth place medal.
