On Monday, February 17th, The High School Boys Junior Varsity basketball team will play the Burwell Junior Varsity team in Burwell following the Middle School boys basketball game. The Middle School game will start at 4:30 p.m.

Ainsworth Girls Wrestling Team Qualifies Two for NSAA State Wrestling Tournament

The Ainsworth Girls Wrestling Team competed in the NSAA Girls B District 2 Wrestling Tournament on February 7th and 8th at Falls City. Ainsworth had six wrestlers compete with two, Paisley Hoffman and Megan Jones, qualifying for the upcoming NSAA State Wrestling Tournament in Omaha.

Sandhills/Thedford had a height advantage over the Lady Bulldogs. Willa Flynn found that out when her shot was blocked by Laney Dahlberg.

Lady Dawgs Fall to Sandhills/Thedford Lady Knights 42-51

The Lady Bulldogs could not pull off a win against the Lady Knights of Sandhills/Thedford. Ainsworth hosted the Sandhills/ Thedford Lady Knights on February 7th.

The Ainsworth Bulldogs put up a strong defense along with several steals to go up 29-6 in the first quarter against the Sandhills/Thedford Knights.

Bulldogs Grab Win at Home Over Sandhills/Thedford, 60-45

On January 7th, the Bulldog Boys Basketball team went head to head with the Sandhills/Thedford Knights. The Bulldogs managed to grab a win during one of their last games of the season.

Sam Titus pinned Jett Luft of Gibbon in his first match on his way to fourth place in the 144 lb. weight class.

The Ainsworth Boys Wrestling Team competed in the Arcadia/ Loup City Wrestling Tournament on February 7th. Mason Painter placed third in the 150 lb.

Sydney Hoffman wrestled in the 110 lb. weight class at the NSAA Girls B District 2.

The Ainsworth Girls Wrestling Team was in Fall City for the NSAA Girls B District 2 Wrestling Tournament on February 7th and 8th. Ainsworth had six wrestlers compete with two, Paisley Hoffman and Megan Jones, qualifying for the upcoming NSAA State Wrestling Tournament in Omaha on February 18th and 19th.

Ainsworth Speech Team Continues Competition

The Ainsworth High School Speech Team kicked off the competition season on Saturday, January 18th at the Valentine Icebreaker Tournament. Sponsor Heather Lutter said, “This was a successful meet for the speakers, with the team finishing in 2nd place out of the five teams competing.

Coach John Cook announced his retirement as Nebraska’s volleyball coach on Thursday, January 30th while former Louisville coach and former Huskers volleyball player Dani Busboom Kelly was announced as his replacement. In what came as a surprise to many, Nebraska’s head volleyball coach, John Cook, announced his retirement after 25 seasons at the helm of the program. Cook announced his retirement through a Nebraska Athletics press release.
