Winning the girls C1-11 subdistrict over Ord on February 17th qualified the Ainsworth Lady Bulldogs for the C1-3 District Final on Friday, February 25th. Ainsworth’s seed: #14. The location: Battle Creek High School. The opponents: #3 seed, 23-2 North Bend Central Tigers.

Jaxon Rucker Competed in Nebraska Elks State Hoop Shoot

Ainsworth sixth-grader Jaxon Rucker finished third on Saturday, February 19th in the Nebraska Elks State Hoop Shoot at York. Competing in the 12-13-year-old division, Rucker made nine of his first 10 free throws, then hit 11 of 15 to finish at 20-for-25.

Senior Ty Schlueter shoots for two of his four points. He also grabbed two rebounds and stole the ball twice.

The Dawgs’ 2021-22 regular season came to a close on Friday, February 18th at Cody-Kilgore High School, where AHS crushed the 2-13 Cowboys by 44 points. “This game should help propel us into sub-districts.

The Class C1-11 Girls Basketball Sub-District tournament was hosted by Ord on February 15th through 17th. 16-8 Ainsworth was seeded #2 and defeated #3 seed Valentine by 17 points on Tuesday to qualify for the sub-district final vs. the Ord Chanticleers on Thursday the 17th.

Jolyn Pozehl raises her hand at the winner of fifth place in the first sanctioned NSAA All-Class State Wrestling Championship. Pozehl defeated Ella Reeves of Battle Creek to take fifth place in the 114 lb. weight class.

Ainsworth freshman Jolyn Pozehl represented Ainsworth High School in the first sanctioned NSAA All-Class State Wrestling Championship for girls. The Girls State Wrestling Championship was held in Omaha on February 18th and 19th in conjunction with the boys state met.
