Small, but mighty! This describes Alpha Delta Chapter. There are only ten members; however, most meetings have more than fifty percent in attendance. Several members hold state offices and/or serve on state committees. These are among the reasons this chapter was awarded the 2023 Nebraska State Chapter Achievement Award at the April Nebraska State Convention during the Founders’/Presidents’ Banquet. One member was “totally shocked” when she was awarded the Nebraska State Individual Achievement Award, just after her chapter had won!

On Monday, May 2nd, Ainsworth High School held its 2023 Academic Awards Ceremony. Teachers presented the following awards to students for various achievements in their courses: Math By Loreece Thornton Algebra II Outstanding Achievement: Emma Kennedy.

I have heard around three inches of rain in the area. It is wonderful to see water on the meadows. We were very fortunate not to have storms because Friday there was a report of 50 tornados warnings in Nebraska some as close as Chambers. There were report of seven inches of rain in western Nebraska.

Olivia and Liam are once again America’s most popular baby names in 2022. Liam has topped the list for six years in a row, and Olivia has been the top choice for new parents for four years. There is only one new name in the top 10, with Luna crawling into the top 10 for the first time.

Nathan Kackmeister has been named the Nebraska National History Day, Senior Division, Teacher of the Year. Kackmeister, a 2011 AHS graduate, is a teacher at Crawford Public School.

The Nebraska Sandhills Cowboy Hall of Fame has announced the 2023 Inductees. Inductees for 2023 are: Lawrence Turner of Cherry County, Lawrence (Larry) Tierney of Custer County, Roy Stuart of Rock County, R.P.

North Central District Health Department is pleased to announce their newest Executive Director, Heidi Kuklis. Heidi joined the NCDHD team in February 2023 and is already quite familiar with NCDHD as she previously served as the Emergency Response Coordinator for over five years.
