Clayton Albert “Butch” Quinn, 81

Clayton Albert “Butch” Quinn, 81, of Santa Maria, CA died in his home on October 10, 2021 with family by his side.

Clay was born February 22, 1940 in Ainsworth, NE to Leslie and Zeta (Jackman) Quinn.

He grew up in Brown County and graduated from Ainsworth High School, Class of 1958, where he was elected Homecoming King and enjoyed playing on the varsity football team. After graduation, Clay earned his degree from Kearney State College, then moved to sunnier weather on the California coast where he earned an MBA from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, CA.

A successful accountant, Clay was most proud of the nearly 20 years he served as Vice President - Finance for AJ Diani Construction and the Diani Companies in Santa Maria, CA. He loved to travel and upon retirement drove across the country several times in his RV visiting friends, family, and historical sites. Clay’s favorite times were those spent cheering on his daughter at her softball games, helping his youngest son cook the turkey on Thanksgiving, and playing with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his kind and generous nature, his infectious smile, and of course, his sweet tooth.

Clay is survived by three children, Tracy Quinn of Santa Monica, CA; Ken and Katie Quinn and their boys, Hayden and Andrew of Orange County, CA; and Clayton “Dale” and Karin Quinn of Rigby, ID, and their children, Jonathon, Michael, Timothy, and William; brother, Leslie “Gene” Quinn, of Tampa, FL; and sister, Beverly Gallaway, of Grand Island, NE.

Clay will return home to Nebraska where there will be a private family service at a later date. In lieu of flowers or donations, the Quinn family asks you to share a round of chocolate shakes with your loved ones in his memory.
