Curtis Shawn Malone, age 60, of Long Pine, passed away on September 1 alongside his son, Shawn Malone.
Curtis was born in Atkinson on May 13, 1965 to Charles “Chuck” Malone and Sharon (Morrison) Malone. He graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1983.
After moving out west, he eventually resettled in Nebraska, calling Long Pine home after meeting and marrying Lori Buoy.
Curtis was an exceptional man, he was always willing to help anyone who needed it, greeted everyone with a smile, and was full of love and laughter. He enjoyed spending time out in the yard playing fetch with the dog, watching the ducks no matter how hot it was, having cookouts with family and friends, and going on side by side rides. He loved to have fun and was always fun to spend time with. If you were lucky you could even catch his dance moves on a rare occasion.
Curtis helped his father Chuck with carpentry and worked at Buckles Automotive. He discovered his career path and became a master electrician while he was in Wyoming, and started his own successful business as an electrician after he moved back to Nebraska.
Survivors include his wife Lori (Buoy) Malone of Long Pine; mother Sharon Malone of Ainsworth; sister Jackie (Rodney) Berry of Bismarck N.D.; stepchildren Chelsey (Dave) Lane of Long Pine, Levi (Ashley) White of Bassett, Derek (Kelcy) White of Bassett, and Tanner White of Bassett; two step-grandchildren; one niece; one nephew; stepdaughters Ayana Westlund and Andrea Koch; other family members; and many great friends.
Curtis was preceded in death by his father Charles Malone; grandparents Lloyd and Veronica Morrison, and grandparents Bob and Doris Malone.
A celebration of life service to honor both Curtis and Shawn Malone will be held at the Ainsworth American Legion on Saturday, September 20, at noon.
