David Roger Fischer, 68

David Roger Fischer was born on August 24, 1953 to Roger and Ione (Bolich) Fischer in Ainsworth, NE. He passed away in Norfolk, NE on July 12, 2022. Dave spent his childhood around the Newport and Bassett, NE area. He was educated at a country school until seventh grade at which time he attended Newport Elementary until he attended Rock County High School and graduated from there in 1971. He participated in high school sports. He excelled in basketball and football. He loved going fishing with his dad and he enjoyed watching all the Husker football, basketball and baseball games.

He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for over 20 years and retired in 2019. He lived his remaining years in Omaha and Norfolk, NE.

Dave was preceded in death by his father, Roger; and great-niece, Shania Shaw.

He is survived by his mother, Ione of Bassett; two sisters, Karla (Tom) Theisen of Atkinson, NE and Danita (Ben) Shaw of Bassett; along with nieces, nephews and other family members.
