    James R. “Jim” Stucker, 71

James R. “Jim” Stucker, 71 of Kearney, NE, formerly of Elm Creek, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. A celebration of life was held Saturday, May 18, 2024 at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Jim was born May 30, 1952 in Hebron, NE to James W. and Jean (Watson) Stucker. He received his education from Ainsworth High School, graduating with the Class of 1970. On November 1, 1985, Jim was united in marriage to Randi Clark in Ainsworth, NE. Jim worked as a field engineer for MCI / World Comm for over 25 years. During that time, he spent eight years in Virginia before moving back to Nebraska in 1994. Jim and Randi owned and operated, “Stuck’s Last Call” in Elm Creek from 2004, until retiring in 2018. Jim later worked for Kearney Keno.

Jim was an avid sports fan, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He enjoyed golfing, being around friends and socializing anywhere he went. Jim was a great dad and never missed the opportunity to coach his sons or attend their many sporting events.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Randi Stucker of Kearney; sons, Naren (Kelly) Welch of Wendell, NC and Ryan Stucker and significant other, Cherish Ohlman of Kearney; siblings, Janice Larson of Omaha, Linda Sand of Kansas City, MO, Randy (Corine) Stucker of Lincoln, Jackie (Ron) Cocolin of Plaistow, NH, Pam Bennett and significant other, Ric Couch of Palmyra, NE, Sheryl Phillips of Yukon, OK, Lisa McDaniel of Hutchinson, KS, Connie Boice of McPherson, KS; sistersin- law, Rhonda (Gene) Buechle of Johnstown, NE and Jacki (Lance) Larsen of Willows, CA; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ron Stucker; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Daphyne Clark.
