Joyce M. Pittack, 84

Joyce M. Pittack, a fifty-five-year resident of Grays Barbor, died on Monday, September 12, 2022. She was born in Naches, WA. Her folks moved back to Nebraska where she attended school in Long Pine and graduated from high school in Bassettt, NE. Joyce attended Norfolk Junior College and received an AA degree in teaching.

On August 10, 1957, she and Clarence D. Pittack were married in Norfolk, NE. After Clarence finished mortuary school in Chicago, they moved to Omaha in 1958 were she taught grade school for two years. She then attended beauty school. After completing beauty school, she and a friend opened their own shop in Papillion, NE.

In 1965, Joyce and Clarence moved to Walla Walla, WA, then to Hoquiam in February 1967. In Hoquiam, she has worked as a bank teller, hairdresser and had driven school bus for the Hoquiam School District. For the past five years, she has had the joy of babysitting her great-grandson, Grayson.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Clarence; a daughter, Michelle; sons, Craig and Cary; grandchildren, Alicia, Nicholas and Ross; great-grandson, Grayson; sisters, Joann (Jim) Wilder, Jeaneen Bestul and Trudy Henderson; and a brother, David Henderson.

Joyce had been a member of Calvary Lutheran Church where she had taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and had belonged to the Ladies Aide, Altar Guild and was a member of the OWLS. She had also been a member of the seniors bowling league.

A funeral serve was held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Aberbeen, WA. The interment was held at the City Cemetery in Tilden, NE.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Calvary Lutheran Church, PO Box 1957, Aberdeen, WA 98520. Arrangement were made by the Coleman Mortuary In Hoquiam.
