Karen was born on May 29, 1942 in Fairbury, NE and died on February 12, 2023, in Kearney, NE.
Her parents were Robert and Marie Helbusch. She grew up on the family farm near Reynolds, NE, and graduated from Reynolds High School.
She went on to graduate with a business degree from Fairbury Nebraska Junior College.
After college, she married Terry Reike and they had three children, Randy (Kellie) of Colorado Springs, CO, Robyn (John) of Kearney and Roxann (Greg) of Aurora, NE. Karen and Terry owned a business in Aurora, NE.
In 2005, Karen married Mike (Alberts) Widhalm. His children are Rene, Scott and Melissa.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 2nd, at 11:30 p.m. at the Ainsworth Cemetery, south of town. Donnie Painter will be officiating the service.
