Kathryn Ann Kurzenberger

Kathryn Ann Kurzenberger, age 84, was ushered into the loving presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 2, 2022.

Kathryn Ann was born to Grayton and Kathryn Rose Kurzenberger in Ainsworth, NE on March 27, 1938. She grew up on the ranch where she loved being outdoors, riding horseback, helping her Dad, working with livestock, etc.

Kathryn Ann was always very thankful for her Christian heritage and accepted Jesus Christ as her own personal Lord and Savior. She loved attending church and Camp Witness. She also loved investing in peoples’ lives and letting her light shine for Jesus.

Kathryn Ann will be greatly missed by many: her upbeat attitude, encouraging notes, and strong faith that she prayed others would also make their own.

She cherished her family and extended family gatherings were a delight to her.

Kathryn Ann loved her years of teaching in the grade schools of Keya Paha County. She had many special memories of the children she taught; the programs she put on, and the special events her schools participated in over the years. A Celebration of Life Service was held on Monday, November 7th at New Hope Community Church in Springview, NE with Pastor Tim Wyrick officiating. Burial followed at Mount Hope Cemetery in Springview. Holmes Funeral Home of Valentine was entrusted with the arrangements.

She is survived by her family: brother, Bill (William Grayton) and Ellen Kurzenberger; sister, Greta Gay and Ken Swanson; plus many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Brian Swanson.

In lieu of flowers, please spend time with your loved ones, plant flowers in your garden, or bake something for a friend. Memorials are suggested to New Hope Community Church, to Camp Witness, or to the family to be designated at a later date.
