Funeral Service for Kenneth R. Turpin, 75, of Newport, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 17, in the Newport Fire Hall. Interment will follow in the Willowdale Cemetery northwest of Newport. Military Rites are to be conducted by Bassett American Legion Post #123. Kenneth Turpin passed away on Saturday, April 11, at his home near Newport. Survivors include wife Milinda of Newport; children Misty (Jason) Hasselquist of Kearney, Kenneth Turpin Jr. of Long Pine, and Chauncey “Herby” Turpin of Fremont; five grandchildren; sisters-in-law Kathy Turpin, Monica Turpin, Eddie Dillon, and Bobbi Hempel all of Bassett, and Judy (Orven) Hulshizer of Crofton; along with nieces, nephews and other family members Visitations for Kenneth Turpin will be held on Thursday, April 16, from 5-7 p.m. at the Hoch Funeral Home in Bassett and continue Friday from 9-10 a.m. in the Newport Fire Hall. Those attending services are asked to please wear casual attire. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to Aseracare Hospice Program or the Newport Volunteer Fire Department in Kenneth’s name.
