LaRayne M. Halligan, 82, of Ord, NE passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the Valley County Health System Hospital in Ord, NE.

Funeral Services were held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the Ord First United Methodist Church. Pastor Spenser Johnson officiated. Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 18, 2024 at the Grandview Cemetery in Long Pine, NE.

LaRayne Margaret was born September 21, 1941, at Center, NE to Don and Mabel (Wallace) Marvin. She was raised in Long Pine where she received her education and graduated from Long Pine High School in 1959.

On August 30, 1959, LaRayne was united to the love of her life, Douglas Dean Halligan at Long Pine, NE. The couple made their home in Long Pine until 1969, when they moved to Ainsworth, NE where they owned and operated Sandhill Pack until 1979. In 1981, they settled in Ord, NE. The couple purchased the Coast to Coast Hardware, which later became True Value Hardware. They operated the hardware store in downtown Ord until retiring in 2002.

LaRayne was a member of the Ord First United Methodist Church and was involved in the Methodist Women. She enjoyed playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, bowling, baking and trips to the casino. Visiting family and attending her grandchildren’s events were among her favorite things to do.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Doug of Ord; two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Toni Halligan of Corpus Christi, TX and Todd and Barbara Halligan of Columbus; five grandchildren, Garrett Halligan (Stephanie Moran), Adam (Sophia) Pena, Tara Pena, Mitchell Halligan (Shayla Andersen) and Trevor Halligan; a brother, Lawrence Marvin of Fremont; and a sister, Dorothy Fredrickson of Hobbs, NM.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Thomas Dean Halligan (2 1/2 years old); two brothers, Kenneth and Ernest Marvin; and three sisters, Clara Mae Hansen, Darlene Denny and Hazel Langer.
