Margaret Ann Wales was born February 26, 1949, in Ainsworth, NE to Benjamin Hartgrave and Maxine Ewing. She departed this life unexpectedly at her home in Inavale, NE on May 8, 2024.
She received her formal education attending Ainsworth schools. Margaret was united in marriage with Gordon Wales on April 11, 1965, and this union was blessed with two children, Tammy and Douglas. In 1972, they moved to Grand Island, NE where Gordon was employed at Hooker Brothers and Margaret was as well for many years as a truck driver. In 1989, she went to work for the City of Grand Island where she was employed for twelve years until she became disabled and could no longer work.
In 2015, Gordon and Margaret moved to Inavale, NE to retire. Margaret loved animals and she had many beloved pets over the years, especially her dogs, Josey and Winchester. In her leisure time she enjoyed being outdoors, camping and boating. She enjoyed working with jigsaw puzzles and doing work searches. Her greatest love and enthusiasm in life was for her family and she especially cherished the time they spent together. She will be lovingly remembered for her kindness and her caring heart.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Maxine and Benjamin Hartgrave; her step-mother, Wanda Hartgrave; and brothers, Archie Hartgrave and Allen Johnson.
Left to treasure her memory are her husband, Gordon Wales of Inavale, NE; daughter, Tammy Curfman of Riverton, NE; son, Douglas Wales of Riverton; grandchildren, Nathan Curfman, Leticia Acosta, Dustin Wales, Jared Wales and Jayden Wales; and several great-grandchildren; brothers, Rick Hartgrave of Clinton, MO, Tony Johnson of Omaha, NE; sister, Bev Harmsen of Papillion, NE; other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the Williams Funeral Home in Red Cloud with the Rev. Chuck Lewis officiating. Interment will be at the Riverton Cemetery.
