David Roger Fischer was born on August 24, 1953 to Roger and Ione (Bolich) Fischer in Ainsworth, NE. He passed away in Norfolk, NE on July 12, 2022. Dave spent his childhood around the Newport and Bassett, NE area. He was educated at a country school until seventh grade at which time he attended Newport Elementary until he attended Rock County High School and graduated from there in 1971. He participated in high school sports. He excelled in basketball and football. He loved going fishing with his dad and he enjoyed watching all the Husker football, basketball and baseball games.

There are old pilots, and there are bold pilots. But sometimes, there are old bold pilots. Tom Trail was born March 16th,1939 in Mc- Cook, NE to Doane and Frances Trail. Tom was a pilot at heart his whole life whether he was able to fly or not. Like many of the Trail boys of the era, learning to fly was a fun activity you got to do at home. After a short stint in the Air Force Warrant Officer program, Tom went on to pursue his passion for aviation in other various forms, such as aerial spraying, flying mail, corporate pilot, A&P, weights engineer (Beechcraft), and the old standby of telling stories at various airports around the Midwest.

Christian Gentleman, Loving Husband, Caring Dad, Grandpa and Grandpa Great, Supportive Brother, Loyal Friend, Sandhills Rancher, Cowboy Poet Extraordinaire, Prolific Writer Willard Gene Hollopeter was born to Fred and Tina (Donahoo) Hollopeter on October 24, 1934 at Ainsworth, NE. He passed away on July 1, 2022 at the age of 87 at the Cherry County Hospital in Valentine, NE.

On the morning of June 27th 2022, Gary G. Green passed away in his home in Bassett, NE at the age of 77 years. Gary was born to Dale and Dorine (Coleman) Green on March 11, 1945 at Kilgore, NE. He was raised in Cody, NE where he grew up ranching with his family and participated in sports and rodeo. He joined the United State Army in 1965 and served for 21 years. He was honorably discharged in 1986. Gary met and married the love of his life, Jennifer James, at Fort Sill, OK in October 1986 and they had two daughters, Kalah and Casey.

Delbert Dean Fullerton, 90, of Gothenburg, NE formerly of Cody, NE, died November 4, 2021 at Hilltop Estates. Graveside services will take place on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Cody, NE at 2:00 p.m.

Donnis M. Omer, 87, of Lincoln, NE, died Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Brookside Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln.

Laurie A. Rudnick, age 54, of Sargent, NE died Thursday, June 16, 2022, at her home in Sargent, NE.

A memorial service for Edith M. Keller, age 97, of Bassett will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. in the Bassett United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow in the Newport Cemetery. Edith Keller died February 24, 2022 at the Rock County Hospital Long Term Care in Bassett.

A celebration of life for Donna Rae (Barlow) Lyons, 81, of Norfolk, formerly of Long Pine was held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater with Delores Ruzicka officiating. Burial followed in the Ewing Cemetery. Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater is in charge of arrangements. Donna gained her wings and entered heaven June 5, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Care Center in Norfolk and was reunited with her loving husband.
