The Ainsworth Lady Bulldogs lost in the C2-11 Subdistrict Championship Game to Niobrara/ Verdigre by one point, 51-52. It was a tough loss, but the Lady Bulldogs still advanced to the C2-3 District Finals due to wildcard points.

The Ainsworth Bulldogs hosted the D1-7 Subdistrict on February 20th and 22nd. The Dawgs defeated the Niobrara/ Verdigre Cougars on February 20th, 75-42 and defeated the Boyd County Spartans on February 22nd, 64-37, to win the D1-7 Subdistricts and move on to the D1-6 District Finals.

With their record and Subdistrict win, the Ainsworth Bulldogs hosted the D1-6 District Finals on Saturday, February 24th. The Dawgs, 17-7, hosted the Axtel Wildcats, 18-6, and came away with a 67-53 victory and a trip to Lincoln for the 2024 NSAA Boys Basketball Championships to be played March 6th through March 9th.

On Tuesday, February 13th, the Ainsworth Bulldogs’s game was all tied up 17-17 at the half, but luckily for them it didn’t stay that way. They strolled past West Holt with points to spare, taking the game 46-32.

The Ainsworth Bulldogs Basketball Team wrapped up their regular season with two wins. The Dawgs defeated the North Central Knights, 69-41, on February 12th and then picked up the final win of the regular season over the Bridgeport Bulldogs on February 16th, 71-63.

Jolyn Pozehl competed in the 2024 NSAA Girls State Wrestling Tournament in the Girls 110 lb. weight class and brought home a silver medal.

The Ainsworth Boys Basketball Team split two games this past week. The Dawgs were in Stuart on February 6th and defeated the Stuart Broncos 59-54.

NSAA Girls District 4 Results for Ainsworth Girls Jolyn Pozehl is headed to the 2024 NSAA Girls State Wrestling Tournament. The State Wrestling Tournament will be held in Omaha on February 15th, 16th and 17th.

On Saturday, February 10th, the Ainsworth High School Speech Team traveled to Gordon to compete in the Gordon-Rushville Invitational. This meet is only varsity competition, so the novices on the team competed as varsity for this meet.
